The club operates according to its constitution and according to strict health and safety guidelines.

Club Rules
All club members are expected to abide by the club rules at all times.

Instructors
All classes are taught by RLSS UK qualified instructors. Information about the instructors is given on our Class Information page.

Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults
Our old Child Protection Policy can be viewed here . It is based upon 'Child Welfare, Good Practice and Child Protection Policy and Procedures', published by RLSS UK in conjunction with NSPCC. Our new policy, adopted at the AGM on June 5th 2011, will be uploaded soon.

Photography Policy
As part of our Safeguarding Policy, we have drawn up a policy for the use of photography (still, video, mobile phone, etc) and this can be viewed here.

Complaints Policy
In case of any complaints against the club, the procedures to be followed are contained in the policy which can be viewed here.

General Lifesaving
For general lifesaving, trainers are expected to follow the guidance stated in 'RLSS UK Policy Statements'.

Swimming Teachers
For swimming coaching and teaching, there is a further Code of Practice included in the Award workbook for 'National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches', published in 2006 by RLSS UK. In addition guidance is given in 'Safe Supervision', published by RLSS UK, ASA, ISRM and ISTC.

Lifeguarding
For Lifeguarding the standard society Code of Practice above is to be followed, but there are several other publications that may influence its application, including:
